The student application process for the June 2019 Kofu, Japan Exchange is underway. This student exchange is entering its 36th year and proves to be one of the most rewarding educational opportunities offered to the students of Des Moines Public Schools. “Water Rocks!” Mixes Science and Music
Water Rocks! is a roadshow that barnstorms the state, spreading the increasingly critical gospel of environmental stewardship packaged in a lively format that encourages student participation. The wet weather outside was perfect for a tutorial about the process by which rainfall inexorably winds its way to rivers, streams and oceans, gathering a little bit of everything in its path along the way. Eagles Win City-Wide Volleyball Title
Congratulations to our Eagles volleyball team! McCombs won the city-wide middle school volleyball tournament, held Saturday, October 6 at North High School.
Student IDs, DART Access to Change
The way students access DART buses is changing beginning in school year 2018-19. When students receive their school IDs this Fall, the badge will have a QR code embedded on it. The QR code will serve as the student’s “ticket” to ride DART. Students will be required to scan the QR code when boarding DART buses. New School Hours Beginning in August
Beginning in August, all schools at DMPS will have new hours. The new hours at our school will be 8:30 AM to 3:25 PM. The change is being made to better serve the educational needs of students, based on research into the sleep patterns of children and teenagers. Click the headline for more information.
