More than 150 middle school students were honored on-stage at North High School for outstanding achievement in a variety of categories. Each DMPS Middle School was represented at the 1st Annual Stellar Awards and each student took home a standing plaque and a book, highlighting the quality recognized that evening. Hundreds of middle school students, along with parents and teachers, gathered at East High’s Williams Stadium yesterday for the annual DMPS Middle School Track & Field Meet. Special thanks to former American Idol contestant Dave Pittman, who came to sing and talk to our students about character building and bullying. Pittman was bullied as a kid because he has turret syndrome. He did a terrific job and the kids responded well to his visit.
