Biography

I earned my bachelor's degree in education from Iowa State University. I will soon be starting my master's degree at Drake. I have been teaching at McCombs Middle School since October of 2015. I grew up in the tiny town of Collins, Iowa and graduated from Collins-Maxwell High School. I have recently moved to the south side of Des Moines. I have been the cheer coach since 2016 for both football and basketball cheer. When I am not teaching, I enjoy making music, reading or hanging out with my family. I look forward to teaching and learning right along with my students!

Biography

I earned my bachelor's degree in education from Simpson College.  I have been teaching at McCombs Middle School since 2012. When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my family, traveling, and crafting.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

Erin Ebling

Biography

I graduate from Simpson College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education.  My teaching career began in Ottumwa, Iowa.  While teaching in Ottumwa I taught third, fifth and sixth grade.  In 2011 I began teaching at McCombs Middle School.  I grew up just south of Des Moines in Indianola.   When I'm not teaching, I love watching and playing sports.  I also enjoy spending time with my husband—Mr. Ebling, two dogs—Mia & Cali along with the rest of my family.

Erin Ennen

Biography

I graduated in 1996 from the University of Iowa with a degree in Social Work.  After working in the field of social work in Iowa City, I went back to the University of Iowa and graduated in 2002 with my second degree in Elementary Education.  In 2011, I earned my Master’s Degree from Morningside College.  I taught elementary school for 14 years in Des Moines before coming to McCombs in 2016. I absolutely love working with middle school age kids! I live in Norwalk with my husband Major, my three sons Tyson, Justus, Boom and my daughter Lottie.  In my free time, I enjoy watching my kids in all of their sports and of course watching Hawkeye football!

 

Jennifer Hyslope

Biography

I earned my bachelor's degree in education from Iowa State University and my master's degree in education from Morningside College.  I have been teaching at McCombs Middle School since 2004.  I grew up on the south side of Des Moines, graduated from Lincoln High School, and still live in the south side community!  When I'm not teaching, I love to spend time with my family.  I look forward to working with you and your child.

Biography

I graduated in 2007 from the University of Northern Iowa with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a minor in Literacy.  In 2015, I earned my Master's Degree in Education from Morningside College.  I have been teaching at Des Moines Public Schools since 2007 - I was at Brody Middle School for 3 years, Jackson Elementary School for 6 years, and started teaching 8th grade at McCombs in 2016.  I grew up in Des Moines and even graduated from Lincoln High School.  I still live on the south side with my husband and daughter.  In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, being active outdoors, and traveling!

Biography

In 2006, I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary and middle school education focusing on literacy.  In 2010, I graduated from Morningside College with a Master of Arts degree in education.  I am passionate about literacy and helping students and children to become confident readers.  Outside of teaching, I enjoy golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

Theresa Leveke

Biography

I am a graduate of The University of Northern Iowa with a bachelors in Elementary Education and minor in Reading and a Masters in Education from Viterbo University.  I have worked in Des Moines Public Schools since 2004, teaching reading, 3rd, 4th and 5th grades.  Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and my pets.  I love to travel and practice yoga.
