Congratulations to yet another award-winning DMPS teacher, McCombs Middle School’s Jake Wager! When last we saw Wager he was coordinating the mock caucus at McCombs in January as students held their own version of Iowa’s first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses. Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses also provide a unique lesson for students as several schools hold mock caucuses about the state’s important role. And it provides the first opportunity to “vote” for many students, as anyone who will be 18 years old by November 8 can participate at the precinct caucuses on February 1.
