Students from McCombs and all of Des Moines Public Schools’ middle schools competed at the City-Wide Track & Field Meet on April 25. Beautiful weather and a big crowd of family and friends cheered on the student-athletes. Click the photo to see more images from the event.

Iowa’s first-in-the-nation caucuses also provide a unique lesson for students as several schools hold mock caucuses about the state’s important role. And it provides the first opportunity to “vote” for many students, as anyone who will be 18 years old by November 8 can participate at the precinct caucuses on February 1. Parent-Teacher conferences will take place on November 18 & 19 from 3:15 – 7:00 pm.
The 8th grade Golden Eagles participated in their first annual Adopt a Road event in conjunction with the city of Des Moines.
The McCombs snowplow design placed first out of middle schools in the Des Moines Public Works’ Annual Snowplow Competition.
Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family.
