Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) Altar on Display at McCombs
McCombs Families,
With help from the families of McCombs students Emiliano (Amir) Rocha and Saul Ceballos, who provided beautiful decorations, we’ve created an altar to celebrate Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Traditionally, this celebration is a time to honor loved ones who have passed by bringing a photo and something they enjoyed in life. If you’d like to participate, feel free to bring a small item or photo to add. The main days of celebration are October 31 and November 1.
The style of the altar decorations can vary across regions in Mexico, but as Amir’s mom explained, the most meaningful part is simply having a space to remember and honor those we’ve lost.
If you’re curious about these traditions, feel free to reach out to someone familiar with Mexican culture for more insights!
