Hello McCombs 8th Grade Families!
In early November we began the process of high school planning with our 8th grade students. Throughout the month we went into classes to teach about the transition to high school. We discussed 4-year planning, freshman year course options, Central Campus/Central Academy, and more. 8th grade students then worked in class with our support to create a 9th grade schedule for the 22-23 school year. We also did a rough draft of their 4 year plan. While the end of high school does seem very far away, it is important to think of the big picture so that they are setting themselves up now for success in 12th grade. Over the last few weeks the counselors have worked to enter all of the student’s paper schedules into Infinite Campus. The information on Infinite Campus is what the high school counselors will review to create your student’s official freshman year schedule! How exciting!
So what does this mean for you? In the following pages you will see instructions on how to log in to your student’s Infinite Campus to view their course selections. Remember that the courses your student selected are primarily based on their interests with guidance from the school counselors. The most important classes to review are the 9th grade courses, as they will continue to meet with their high school counselor each year to update the following school year’s schedule. Please take some time to review and talk to your student about their 9th grade schedule and 4 year plan. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to your student’s school counselor.
The school counselor’s will continue to meet with 8th grade students individually and in the classroom to help prepare them for high school throughout the school year. We are so excited to support your student through this exciting time. They will be off to high school before we know it!

¡Hola familias de 8vo grado de McCombs!
A principios de noviembre comenzamos el proceso de planificación para la escuela secundaria con nuestros estudiantes de 8vo grado. Durante todo el mes, fuimos a los salones a hablar sobre la transición hacia la escuela secundaria. Conversamos acerca de la planificación de los 4 próximos años, las opciones de clases para el próximo año, Central Campus /Central Academy, y más. Los estudiantes de 8vo grado posteriormente trabajaron, con nuestro apoyo para crear un horario de 9no grado para el año escolar 22-23. También diseñamos un borrador de sus planes de estudio para los próximos 4 años. Si bien el final de año parece estar bastante lejano, es importante ver el escenario complete y así prepararse ahora para tener éxito en 12vo grado. Durante las últimas semanas las consejeras han trabajado en ingresar todos los horarios que están en papel a la base de datos de Infinite Campus. La información de Infinite Campus es la que las consejeras de la escuela secundaria van a revisar para crear el horario oficial de su estudiante, como estudiante de primer año. ¡Que emoción!
Entonces, ¿qué significa esto para usted? En las siguientes paginas usted verá instrucciones de cómo ingresar al portal de Infinite Campus de su estudiante para revisar las clases que ha seleccionado. Recuerde que los cursos que su estudiante selecciono están basados principalmente en sus intereses con guía de las consejeras de la escuela. Las clases más importantes para revisar son las de 9vo grado, ya que se van a seguir reuniendo con las con las consejeras de la escuela secundaria cada año para actualizar el horario del año siguiente. Por favor, tómese un momento para revisar y conversar con su estudiante acerca de su horario de 9vo grado y su plan de 4 años. Si tiene alguna pregunta o inquietud por favor contáctese con la consejera de su estudiante.
Las consejeras de la escuela seguirán reuniéndose con los estudiantes de 8vo grado de manera individual y como grupo en el salón a los largo del año para ayudarlos a preparase para la escuela secundaria. Estamos contentas de poder apoyar a su estudiante en este emocionante período. ¡Partirán a la escuela secundaria antes de que nos demos cuenta!
