MLK Day Of Service Opportunity

This is from Elli Ross, an intern at Community Youth Concepts.

At Community Youth Concepts, we are gearing up for our MLK Day of Service event, which will be held virtually this year on MLK Day, January 18th. This event is free and open to everyone!

At 10:00am, we will be making bookmarks, cards of encouragement, and videos about our favorite childhood books to support our friends at Everybody Wins! Iowa.

At 1:00pm one of our students will be leading a workshop on the topic of self care and gratitude. For this opportunity, participants will be able to make cards to send to people in their lives that they are thankful for. This service project is geared towards middle and high school students. If you have a younger student interested in participating, please contact alicia@cyconcepts.org for more information.

*For high school students working towards Silver Cord Hours for graduation, CYC staff can sign off on documentation after the event!

If students/families need supplies, they are welcome to pick up supplies at Community Youth Concepts (1446 Martin Luther King Jr Pkwy, Des Moines, IA 50314). They will determine this in the RSVP link provided!

Everyone interested in joining us for either of the service opportunities should RSVP at this link: RSVP HERE!

Once participants register, they will receive the Zoom link to join us on January 18th!
