DMPS learned today that three schools – McCombs, Moulton and Studebaker – were top finishers in the EPA’s 2013 Energy Star National Building Competition. In fact, Studebaker and McCombs finished 7th and 8th overall out of more than 3,000 buildings from across the nation that took part in the energy efficiency contest. The basketball season isn’t over yet, at least at McComb Middle School. The school took to the court last Friday for some games between teachers and students, a little fun to celebrate McCombs raising more than $2,000 for Hoops for the Heart, a fundraiser for the American Heart Association. Team One for McCombs Battle of the Books won their first competition and move on to the final competition in April.  The team includes Grant Fay, Ashley Sackpraseuth, Raven Mitchell-Johnson, Amie Berndt, and Jacob Chaplin.
