Golden Eagles “Do” the Zoo

On Monday, October 21, a group of thirty-one Golden Eagle seventh and eighth grade students volunteered at the Blank Park Zoo for their first community service event of the year.  The Golden Eagle members are dedicated students who want to take charge and lead McCombs Middle School towards success.  The students cleaned the grounds surrounding the zoo, the parking lots, and the lunch and park areas.  After the zoo entrance area was cleaned, the Golden Eagles picked up trash and candy inside the zoo from the Night Eyes event from the previous evening.  They also enjoyed the company of the animals.  Overall, the event was a huge success!
